Old lamp reborn?

Did I ever tell you that I am a yard sale enthusiast?  I can’t resist rummaging through peoples discarded items to find a great buy.  It is particularly gratifying to take that item and repurpose it into something new.  I eyed this old lamp at the last yard sale that I went to.  It was late in the day, and the seller saw me inspecting it.  It was priced at $5.00, however; I told him that I didn’t need another lamp.  The seller said that I could have it for free if I would just take it off his hands; everything leftover was going to the donation center.  I accepted his “gift” and the anticipation of what the lamp could become began to boggle my brain.

Time to hot glue on some burlap. I’m going for a shabby chic look.1479305231294-temp

The finished product.  Since the light bulb shows through the shade, I put an Edison bulb light in the lamp.  What a unique look!
